Helen Protano

Where are you from?
I was born in Bolton and grew up in Atherton, Greater Manchester. Although, I do have a Scottish influence from my Mum and spent most of school holidays up on the outskirts of Glasgow.     

Where did you study/ work previously?
I previously worked at Bolton Council as Customer Service officer for 10 years.

What is a typical day at MTS like for you?
As the Rehabilitation Assistant Manager my day is usually a busy one, where I manage multiple diaries, calendars and schedules, also ensuring the safety of our staff while they are out and about with clients.

What’s the best thing about your role?
My role is quite diverse and every day is different and enjoyable. I also love to hear from the rehab assistants about their client’s achievements.

What do you consider is your biggest achievement within your role?
My biggest achievement since starting at MTS is progressing on to become Rehabilitation Assistant Manager. I started out as Liz's admin assistant, then onto becoming a Rehab Assistant and then onto my current role as the rehab manager.
