Olivia Billman
Rehab Assistant
Where are you from?
I was born in Bury and grew up in South Manchester. I have two sisters and a pet dog called Cleo.
Where did you study/ work previously?
I have had a number of working roles, mainly within the hospitality industry such as working as a hostess at Manchester United for 6 years. In May 2022 I graduated from Chester University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I then worked as an OT assistant at the Priory Hospital before joining MTS in November 2022. I'm currently studying to become an OT through an apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam Uni.
What is a typical day at MTS like for you?
Each day is hugely varied which I enjoy. My role is usually split between the office and then out meeting with clients. These sessions have been created according to the OT’s Treatment Plan. I also regularly liaise with each client's MDT's and carry out various admin work.
What’s the best thing about your role?
I love that the role involves meeting such a wide variety of people. More specifically though, it's hugely rewarding to see a client achieve a goal of theirs, no matter how small it may seem :)
What do you consider is your biggest achievement within your role?I
I would say building and maintaining a professional relationship with my regular clients and starting to see treatment plans being carried out, that I have helped develop has been a big achievement for myself.
